POE - Perl Object Environment

POE is an award-winning framework for networked, multitasking programs. Its users range from hobbyists to large companies, and a fledgling market has emerged for people with mad POE skills.
POE is accepting apprentices with all levels of skill and from all areas of expertise, so we have rated the project's difficulty as an average 5. Many apprentice projects will result in CPAN modules. These modules make tasteful gifts and (in addition to the POE experience) look great on resumes.
